ABOUT US
The mission of the Department of Oncology at University Hospital KDU is aiming to improve the quality of cancer care through research and teaching. There is strong emphasis of patient care through translation of new knowledge, with available infrastructure to develop scientific insight.
The Department has a staff around 40 members both clinical and non-clinical – and it is one of the fastest growing cancer centres of Sri Lanka.
One of the key-aims for the Department is to bring together basic scientific and clinical research groups from Faculties of Medicine and Allied health Sciences of KDU to apply knowledge of cancer and to develop research and share the current knowledge and applied international guidelines in Cancer care so that we may achieve better outcome of patients with cancer.
