
ABOUT US
The Clinical Microbiology Laboratory provides comprehensive microbiological diagnostic services for the inpatient and outpatient health care activities of the hospital. The major functions of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory are to investigate specimens for microbial pathogens, to make accurate identification of important isolates, to perform antimicrobial susceptibility tests when indicated, and to evaluate serological samples for infectious diseases. The laboratory will process and report on clinical specimens appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner that ensures the integrity of the specimen. The information provided by the microbiology laboratory will enable the clinicians in the accurate diagnosis and in the appropriate treatment of patients with infectious diseases which will have direct impact on patient outcome.
